PHILOSOPHY
At MIMO, we believe that artists, communicators, and creatives have the power to foster a more positive outlook on life. In our films, we delve into philosophical questions, challenging the status quo and asking:
Why do things have to be the way they've always been?
Why not explore uncharted territories and discover new, possibly better paths?
We’re all about showcasing realities that need changing while offering our vision of what’s possible.
The Journey
Our story began 15 years ago in the rehearsal room of theater play called “Luciola,” where fate cast us as the romantic leads. Although our artistic journeys started individually long before that moment, it was the spark of collaboration that ignited our passion for each other and later on for filmmaking. Now based in both Dubai and Brazil, we blend the vibrant spirit of Brazilian art with the innovative "can-do" attitude fostered in the UAE.

OUR
IMPACT
Before MIMO officially launched, we created a web series that grew our audience to over 5 million views on YouTube! We tested our ideas, shared our vision, and even got a nod at the CinePedra Azul festival in Espírito Santo, Brazil, alongside just two other web series. Our short film, "Situationship," made waves in the festival circuit too, being nominated for and winning 4 awards at the International Queer Film and Art Forum in Las Vegas, as well as gaining selection for the Sapphic Film Festival in the UK. Situationship was selected for the prestigious BangkokThai International Film Festival in 2024. We're just getting started, and we can't wait to see where this creative journey takes us!
